According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (2016), anxiety disorders which are extremely treatable affect approximately 18% of the United States population every year; however, less than 40% of affected individuals obtain treatment. Whether individuals are suffering anxiety and/or depression due to life stressors or are “hardwired” towards being more anxious/depressed, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help to challenge irrational thoughts and take control of your life while mastering healthier coping mechanisms.
Over 7 ½ million adults in America suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (ADAA, 2016). This disorder can affect, men, women and children, and is commonly seen with other disorders such as substance abuse, anxiety and/or depression. Working with the client to tell their story in their own time I will use evidence based therapy to help the client regain control of their life helping them to identify triggers and utilize effective coping mechanisms.
